About me: I started doing photography about 12 years ago. I
took some basic and advanced classes with a Canon AE-1 35mm
film camera. I learned how to use and develop black and white
film. Around this time I started learning html and writing
articles for classes about the history of heavy metal, punk rock
and censorship. In 2001 I started a print magazine called Punk
Rawker Magazine, started writing album reviews and shooting
shows with a disposable camera. The first show I shot and
wrote about was Good Charlotte. I had won tickets to their
show in Buffalo with MxPx. That year I shot a ton of shows
including the Van's Warped Tour and my first 2 interviews with
rock band Lit and pop-punk band New Found Glory. Since
then I have probably shot around a thousand shows using all
different cameras from disposables, point & shoot, 35mm,
Polaroids, etc and interviewed some big bands including Joan
Jett & The Blackhearts, Silverchair, Placebo, All American
Rejects, Simple Plan, Goo Goo Dolls, Sum 41 & The Used to
name a few. In 2005, the magazine became an online magazine
and the named changed to Burning Stars because we wanted to
expand from just covering punk to pretty much all genres and
subgenres of punk, rock, pop, alternative, metal, etc. I just retired
my Canon EOS Rebel XT and upgraded to a Canon EOS Rebel
T3i.
